Tiger Talk

March Madness in Mullan means yet another round of snowstorms and cold weather!!

Basketball is finished for 2023-2024.  If someone would have told me a year ago about the challenges the boys and girls would face, I wouldn’t have believed it.  However, the kids persevered through the injuries and sickness, and I applaud their determination, hard work, and Tiger hearts through it all.  They showed us how to stick together and continue doing their best even when the odds were against them, which is the most important lesson we can give them for the rest of their lives.  Victory isn’t always defined by the numbers on a scoreboard.

These Tiger athletes are to be congratulated for their individual achievements:

Girls All League:  Autumn Charvez, Avah Blankenship

Boys All League:  Steven Petit, Talan Rupp Connors

Mullan’s shop program received a $60,000 grant from Idaho Career Ready Students program to purchase five new welders, three drill presses, a metal-cutting miter saw, welding booths, along with welding helmets, gloves, jackets, bits, blades, and calipers.  This upgrade allows us to better prepare our students with necessary skills to enter a millwright program and become more marketable in the workplace.  Thanks to Mr. Steve Trogden for spearheading this important addition to our vocational education program!

I want to applaud our entire senior class as they prepare for their future.  Even though they still have three months until they graduate, ALL of them have applied and made plans for their post-secondary education which includes 4-year, 2-year, and vocational education schools.  A special thanks to Ms. Heather Branstetter for all her encouragement and support as they navigated college applications, scholarships and financial aid forms.  Bravo Seniors!!
