Mullan School District is committed to providing a safe, inspiring, enriching and rewarding educational environment for the purpose of helping students live satisfying and fulfilling lives while attaining and maintaining their maximum potential as successful, productive citizens.
The school district is also committed to working with business and community leaders, local, state, and federal governmental officials and agencies to help foster an economically and socially sustainable environment for our school district, while protecting our historical and cultural community values.
The vision of the Mullan School District is that all learners develop their maximum individual potential and acquire the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to contribute to a healthy society, a prosperous and sustainable economy and to lead satisfying, fulfilling lives.
All students are important, each is unique physically, socially, emotionally, and intellectually. They are all worth the effort to make sure they learn at the highest level they can obtain.
Parents are the first and primary teacher and they are responsible for their children’s basic needs and values. Their active participation is critical to their child’s success.
Student learning is the sole function of the Mullan School District, working to insure that all students become confident, self-directed, lifelong learners and responsible citizens in the workplace and our community.
Our schools will provide a safe and positive setting with clearly defined expectations for behavior based on mutual respect.

Curriculum Goal: Continuously implement and develop a rigorous curriculum that meets the needs of each student.
- Provide aligned curricular materials and programs that correspond with local and state achievement standards.
- Provide professional development to effectively and consistently implement the curriculum.
- Maintain an ongoing curriculum and materials adoption process that involves staff and community members.
- Provide opportunities that challenge and support all students.
- Continue to evaluate and revise curriculum.
- Metric 1: Review instructional goals on an annual basis to ensure they are aligned with state standards.
- Metric 2: Student progress will be monitored in the core areas of reading, math, and language usage using appropriate progress monitoring tools.
- Metric 3: Student scores on state and national assessments (including college entrance exams) will be analyzed.
- Form and develop community partnerships that enhance student achievement.
- Encourage and support active parent involvement in each school.
- Develop and implement extended learning opportunities for students and community.
- Promote opportunities for parents and community members to mentor students
- Metric 1: The Board of Trustees will assess the appropriateness and effectiveness of the plan.
- Metric 2: Future planning will include feedback from city, chamber, business entities and service organization where appropriate.
- School improvement action plans will be developed, implemented, and annually reviewed by staff and community.
- Accreditation reports will be utilized to monitor and improve all programs.
- Evaluation by “outside” teams will be encouraged and completed at regular intervals.
- Metric 1: School improvement teams, the administration, and the Board of Trustees will review the school improvement action plans, annually.
- Metric 2: Reports from evaluation teams will be analyzed by the administration and staff to determine the effectiveness of the plans and the needs for the future.
- Metric 3: Common district assessments, surveys, teacher input, and state scores will be used to determine the effectiveness of school improvement programs.
- Provide neighborhood school sites and facilities of sufficient number and size to effectively house all students.
- Provide facilities that are safe, secure and allow for an optimal learning environment.
- Provide facilities that are cost effective, easily and well maintained, energy efficient and aesthetically pleasing.
- Provide sufficient equipment that is technologically advanced to complement instruction.
- Provide facilities that are designed to adapt to future educational programming.
- Provide facilities that invite use by the community at large.
- Metric 1: Adequate school facilities will be provided to complement the strategic plan.
- Metric 2: Administrators, teachers, parents and students will provide input into the adequacy of facilities/materials/resources.
